Play therapy
Children, like adults, often experience big emotions, but without the emotional vocabulary and intelligence to express and cope with their emotions in an effective and healthy way. Play being one of the only things children know, is often how they express their thoughts and feelings. It is through play that children communicate anger, sadness, loneliness, shame, excitement, pride, and joy. Play Therapy allows the Therapist to observe and better understand the child's emotions and thoughts, opening the door for better approaches to treating and addressing their behaviors, while developing emotional regulation and coping skills.

Parenting Skills
At Mindful Living Therapy, we understand that in order to maximize the benefits of therapy for a child, it is imperative that the parents are a part of the therapeutic process. Whether that be assisting in reinforcing new skills at home or learning parenting skills that may be helpful in addressing behavioral concerns
03
parent-child interaction therapy
As Adults, we often lose the ability to play as it isn't as encouraged as much as it should be. Play can be an excellent way for parents to strengthen the parent-child relationship, while discovering more about the child's emotions and how to approach them in a more effective way.
